In industrialized countries, the building sector is positioned as the most energy consuming (in France : 42.5% in final energy ) . The challenges are to reduce the energy consumption of this crucial sector. The first field of application is the optimization of heating systems, air conditioning, including the integration of renewable energy ( electrical heat pumps, gas heat pumps, micro cogeneration, solar cooling , hybrid solutions).
Based on the development of analytical methodologies and building expenses representation, the eDSM Group contributes to the development of optimized and eco-designed products, develop optimal integration and driving solutions, load management strategies, evaluation of low energy use systems methods , methods of energy audit and accounting of energy savings in micro or macro scale.
The topics of the eDSM group are linked to the national Energy agencies goals (ADEME , ANR) , European (European Commission, IEE Programme) and international (IEA ): Energy efficiency and electrical peak reduction, integration of renewable energy ( RE ) smart meters and smart grids. The eDSM group project based on research contracts with industry and public authorities is in line with company expectations and society : lower energy consumption, CO2 emissions , construction of offers helping to limit the increase of electricity prices andto increase the share of Renewable Energy in the electricity mix.
The work of the MDE group designed to address the current problems of reducing energy consumption and electric power demand at lower cost. For this, the MDE group relies on scientific methods that enriches , allowing him a sustained rate of publication :
Development of modeling rules adapted to the partial load conditions and the influence of control
Dynamic modeling of non-nominal conditions completed by experimental characterization at short time steps
